Cardinal Play Off Series — Make It a Win Win!
Posted on October 9th, 2015 by Zane Cagle
One of the best baseball rivalries opens tonight in downtown St. Louis at Busch Stadium when the playoff series begins between the Cards and Cubs. When it comes to celebrating and having fun, make sure you have a plan for a safe ride home with a SOBER driver! Let’s have a Win-Win for our team and the safety of all the fans traveling and avoid drunk driving car crashes.
Where Are You Watching the Game?
Maybe you are going to the stadium or maybe you are going to a local restaurant and bar to join many other Cardinal fans in cheering the home team to victory. There is a lot of excitement every fall when the Cards almost always make the playoffs and there are no better MLB fans than St. Louis fans. Make a plan ahead of time for where you are going to watch the game and how you are going to get home safely.
Know How You Are Getting Home Safely
The most fun thing about planning a party is getting to the location, watching the game and cheering including alcoholic beverages. I dare say downtown will be packed tonight including Ballpark Village and it should be. We all should enjoy this truly great time in our city! But go one step further and plan your transportation home. Make sure you have a sober driver or alternative transportation home after the festivities. Planning the end of the party is never quite a fun, but it may be the most important part of your party plan!

There are a number of cab companies in St. Louis.
Tonight, after the festivities there may be a wait. You may want to call an hour in advance to schedule your ride.
- Laclede Cab Company (314) 652-3456
- Harris Cab (314) 535-5087
- St Louis County & Yellow Cab (314) 656-6705
- St. Louis American Cab Company (314) 531-8766
- ABC & Checker Cab (314) 725-2111
- Sam Cab Service (314) 600-120
(We do not recommend one cab company over another, but offer the contact list as an alternative to drinking and driving)
The Metrolink has stations at the stadium. The MetroLink has service to Scott- Shiloh through downtown to Brentwood. Rather than trying to park downtown, you may want to consider parking your car at one of the parking lots at one of the transit stations and riding the MetroLink to the game and celebrations.
Using Car Transportation?
The main thing to remember if you are going to be driving or riding in a car over the playoff weekend (or any weekend for that mater) is you need to have a designated sober driver.
The “Sober Driver” is NOT the person who has had “the least” to drink, rather the sober driver is the person who has NOT had Any alcoholic beverages.
Local authorities will be on the lookout for drunk drivers. While a DUI can severely mess up your party plans, a fatal car crash can be the end to all celebrations. Car crashes due to drunk driving are the worst kind of crashes because they are 100% avoidable.
Climbing behind the wheel after you have been drinking is the definition of “negligence”. Drinking and driving is irresponsible for the driver, their passengers and others on the roadway. Make responsible decisions this weekend and make all around WINS for the Cards and for transportation safety.
Injured in a Car Crash?
If you are injured in a car crash due to the fault of another, you will need legal representation. Most of us at The Cagle Law Firm will be watching the Cards this weekend, but our attorneys are available seven days a week for free consultations.
