Fall & Winter Swim Lessons: Great Idea to Promote Water Safety in St. Louis, Missouri

Do your child a favor and start them in swim classes in St. Louis, Missouri. As parents think about their children heading back to school, there are so many things for which to prepare! School supplies-check, new school clothes-check, immunizations-check, after-school activities-check. One more item parents of small children should think about is swim lessons. In Missouri and Illinois, we tend to think of swim lessons in the spring before swim season starts in the summer. But, one way to improve the safety of your child’s water experiences is to have them participate in quality swim lessons in the fall and winter months.

Monitoring your child while they are swimming and having your children learn to swim are the two biggest preventions to drowning and to promote water safety. Children who swim year-round see an increase in skill level instead of just swimming 3-4 months in the summer. Gains your child may make in swimming skills during the summer may actually decrease unless they swim during the off-summer months. While some schools offer swim classes, it is not usually until middle or high school that children can take swim lessons in public schools. At Little Fishes Swim School in St. Louis, Missouri, children learn how to swim year-round in age-appropriate classes. Fall enrollment has started, and classes begin in September!

My children in swim school at Little Fishes Swim School have significantly increased their love and appreciation of the water. From the age of 6 months, my children have had the opportunity to become familiar with water in a fun, socialized safe environment. Swim lessons for my small children have involved safe, water fun for my entire family. Teaching your child how to swim greatly improves the odds they will be safe swimmers as they get older. Pools and lakes are designed and intended for hours of fun, but they can also be areas of great injury and even death if safety isn’t always practiced. Safety and education are huge priorities at The Cagle Law Firm. We want to remind all parents that swim lessons in the fall and winter months are great opportunities for your children to exercise and learn swimming and safety. Other programs offered through the St. Louis YMCA and private lessons are also advantageous for children to learn swimming skills. Get your child involved in swim lessons for a safer summer!

Pool and child safety are major themes we try to promote at The Cagle Law Firm. If you have ideas and suggestions on promoting and educating regarding pool safety and child safety, please feel free to share information with us by calling (314) 276-1681 or sending me an email at zane@caglellc.com.
