Illinois tractor trailer accident kills one and injures another
Posted on November 10th, 2009 by Zane Cagle
An accident in Illinois involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck took the life of a young teen who was riding in the truck and sent the young driver to the hospital. According to Police reports, the driver of the semi truck lost control and spun into oncoming traffic, striking the pickup truck. The trucker was not injured. The two teens in the pickup truck were both basketball players at a local high school, and the accident has shocked the small town and demonstrated the destructive power of tractor trailer accidents. Both of the teens were wearing seat belts, but the force of the tractor trailer left little chance for the boys to avoid injury. As of yet, no charges have been filed against the trucker, but he may face a civil suit from the teens’ parents for medical bills and possibly a wrongful death suit.
