Madison County mother files suit over accident caused by tractor trailer
Posted on January 1st, 2010 by Zane Cagle
A Madison County, IL woman filed suit earlier this month after she and her daughter sustained serious injuries in an accident involving a tractor-trailer. The accident occurred on I-270 when the plaintiff had stopped due to traffic. Failing to stop his truck in time, the defendant struck the vehicle directly behind the plaintiff with enough force to push the plaintiff’s car forward into another truck. In the 4-count suit seeking over $200,000 in damages, the plaintiff alleges that the driver of the truck was negligent by driving too fast and failing to stop to avoid an accident. The force of the impact resulted in serious injury to the plaintiff, whereby she experienced pain and suffering and incurred medical costs. Auto accidents are dangerous enough, but the damages can be even more significant when larger vehicles like trucks and semis are involved. It is important you know your options for compensation, so do not hesitate to contact a lawyer.
