Maryville Man Charged in Fatal DUI Crash on Interstate 55/70

Last week, there was a tragic fatal car crash involving a mother of three struck by pick-up on east Interstate 55/70 near Maryville. The mother had pulled her vehicle over to the shoulder due to car trouble. When she got out, a pick-up struck and killed her and struck her car with her three children inside.
Maryville Man Charged
Earlier this week, a 38 year old man of Maryville was formally charged with two counts of aggravated DUI for crash that killed the 27 year old mother. According to reports from The Belleville News-Democrat the accused man has received at least 40 citations that don’t appear on his driving record. The BND also reported that 25 of the 40 citations received by the Maryville man were in Madison and St. Clair counties since 1994. However, the BND did not report what those citations involved as two of those were seat belt violations. Currently, the pick up driver is free on bond.
