Community Involvement
Community involvement has always been crucial to Zane — from high school athletics, inter-collegiate athletics and fraternity life, to support of non-profit organizations in the areas promoting health, safety education and justice. As a husband and father of two small children, these goals have become increasingly important aspects of his life.

New City School – Zane is a sponsor of the New City online fundraising auction held every year for student K-8 in St. Louis City. New City School develops each child’s individual strengths through an integrated Multiple Intelligences curriculum. Preparing children to be confident joyful learners who are not only successfully academically but also value knowledge about themselves and others, and who value diversity.
Cagle Rural Reading (CRR) is a non-profit foundation launched by Zane in 2012 promoting literacy through technology. Portions of Zane’s fees from large settlements and verdicts are used to fund the foundation. Schools, libraries and other educational organizations are eligible to received funding through grants. Zane founded Cagle Rural Reading in conjunction with an expert board of directors to promote literacy, especially in rural areas such as the area in which he grew up. As an individual who struggled with literacy as a child and met the challenge, Zane is particularly responsive to the reading and literacy needs of all children. As a community leader, Zane feels it is a responsibility and a privilege to be involved in the community and contribute to the learning successes of all young people. KidsAndCars.org is a national nonprofit child safety organization dedicated to preventing injuries and death to children in or around motor vehicles.
KidsAndCars.org has been pioneering a national prevention movement since 1996 by promoting the highest level of awareness among parents, caregivers, and the public at-large about the dangers inherent to children in or around motor vehicles.
KidsAndCars.org works to prevent these sudden tragic events through data collection, education and public awareness, policy change, regulations and survivor advocacy.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon had its inaugural run October 23, 2011, and Solutia was the proud local promoter. The goal of this event was to raise funds for TASK – Team Activities for Special Kids. Zane has dedicated his energy to promote health, safety and education through personally running in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon. Additionally, Zane and The Cagle Law Firm provided corporate sponsorship of the marathon supporting TASK. TASK is an organization providing exercise and socialization through team sports to over 800 greater St. Louis children. Backyard Lifeguards is a full-service aquatic safety company specifically for residential pools and their owner families, delivering water-safety training, programs and services right to your door. Backyard Lifeguards offers customized on-site pool assessments and water safety education and is an American Red Cross-authorized provider of portable professional lifeguard services. Zane continues to work with Backyard Lifeguards to promote pool safety for families and as a resource in preventing injuries in and around pools.
