School Bus and Car Collide in St. Louis; Two Children Struck at Bus Stop in De Soto

Two separate incidents have renewed the call for safety around bus stops. A car rear-ended a school bus  on October 3 in north St. Louis bus accident, injuring nine people, including three children. The cause of the crash is unclear. In a separate accident, on October 5, two children were struck by a 22 year old woman while crossing the street in De Soto. No charges are expected to be filed against the woman resulting from the pedestrian accident. In each of the incidents, children were taken to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

These incidents are a reminder that safety around school buses and around bus stops is of paramount importance. Because school buses make frequent stops, they are at a greater risk of being struck by an inattentive driver.
