According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 39-year old man died at the scene of a motorcycle crash near Stotts City, Missouri. The scene was on Missouri Highway 97 in Lawrence County, Missouri. The Springfield News Leader reported that it appeared that the victim was on a Honda motorcycle northbound when he attempted to pass two vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles, a Dodge truck, attempted to make a left turn and the victim crashed into the side of the pickup. Neither of the drivers of the two vehicles was injured and did not result in auto collisions with anything in addition to the motorcycle.
Investigation will certainly focus on the primary causes of the accidents beyond the motorcyclist attempting to pass to vehicles such as visibility, speed and whether the driver of the Dodge used his or her turn signal.
