Three people were killed and four were injured when a SUV and a tractor-trailer collided on Interstate 65 early Wednesday morning according to state police and The Courier-Journal. A spokesman for a Children’s Hospital confirmed that two of the four injured were children but were unable to release the names of the victims or the severity of their injuries. The accident occurred about 3:30 a.m. and has resulted in the northbound lanes being shut down until at least Noon. The driver of the truck was not injured and investigators are trying to determine the relationship of the seven people in the SUV. Investigation will continue as to the cause and details of the accident as well.
Semi-truck collisions almost always result in serious injuries for drivers and passengers of the smaller vehicle or vehicles involved in the accident. It is important to contact a personal injury attorney as soon as possible in order for a thorough investigation to occur. Some evidence is only available in the first few hours and days of the accident and it can sometimes make a big difference in the value of your claim.
