Tow truck causes four-car accident on interstate, kills one
Posted on June 9th, 2009 by Zane Cagle
This past Saturday, a four-vehicle accident involving a flatbed tow truck on an interstate outside Salt Lake City took the life of one man and stalled traffic for three hours. The tow truck was southbound on I-15 and cross over a movable barrier, slamming into a northbound Toyota Camry, Chevy pickup truck and a Honda Element SUV. The Camry became lodged underneath the tow truck, sending the driver to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two passengers of the pickup truck escaped major injury. Initial Police reports state the accident was due to the tow truck driver “not paying attention.” Collisions involving large trucks and buses are some of the most damaging traffic accidents.
