Two Chicago families get $24 million for fatal semi-truck crash

County, IL awarded nearly $24 million to the families of Thomas Sanders and Jose Sperl who a fatal semi-truck accident in April 2004. The wrongful death suit named the Minnesota freight broker C.H. Robinson Worldwide and other defendants, including the driver who was charged with driving on a suspended license and falsifying her log book. The accident occurred when a semi-truck collided with a line of vehicles on Interstate highway 55. Along with the two fatalities, four others were injured and one seriously injured.
