Two female pedistrians were seriously injured when a car driven by a 37 year old man crashed into them as they were waiting at a bus stop. Investigators say that the driver was possibly suffering from a heroin overdose as he was unresponsive and not breathing with a needle still in his arm after the collision. One of the women, a 51 year old, was flown to the hospital with serious injuries including a severed leg. The second woman, a 25 year old, was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital via ambulance with crushed ankle and other serious injuries. Both women underwent surgery in their life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was revived and taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries according to police. The women were apparently innocent pedestrians involved in the car accident at the corner of Natural Bridge and Lucas & Hunt at around 3:30 last Friday afternoon.
