Syrup Truck Accident on Buttermilk Pass, Kentucky….What Are the Odds?

Once in a while a really strange auto accident will happen in the strangest location making quite a story. Last Thursday a semi-truck driver of a Hungry Jack syrup truck spilled onto Buttermilk Pass in northern Kentucky. I would be interested in the mathematical odds of a maple syrup truck crashing and having a spill on Buttermilk Pass. The truck was carrying a truckload of syrup bottles which were spilled all over the highway.
According to the Business Courier and WCPO Channel 9, the semi-truck driver was trying to maneuver to avoid hitting a car on the highway with a blown-out tire. The semi-truck avoided the car but crashed into a median and overturned. Thankfully, no one was injured. According to Fort Mitchell Police Officer Mark Spanyer, “Every lane of southbound I-75 was covered in pancake syrup. It was a royal pain in the butt”.
While the combination of pancake syrup truck losing its cargo on Buttermilk Pass, the result was not a culinary treat. In fact, the cleanup crews used sand to clean up the mess.
Once in a great while, we can blog about a semi-truck crash that does not involve serious injury and has a unique, almost amusing twist.
